The Bible
The Bible is a collection of 66 books, written over a period of nearly 2000 years. The Bible's grand subject is Jesus (Luke 24:27) and the Bible inherantly points us towards Him (John 5:39-47). The Bible climaxes with God 'entering our story' (John 1:14) to set us free from death (John 3:14-17) by replacing religion with relationship. (John 14:5-7,2 Corinthians 3:5-14).
The Bible provides us with the best lense with which to meet the historical Jesus (2 Peter 1:16-18). The Bible is also trustworthy for matters of teaching, correcting and training us in living a life that honors God (2 Timothy 3:15-16, Hebrews 4:12).
God
There is one God (Deuteronomy 6:4 with Mark 12:29) whom is revealed as three persons: Father & Son (John 1:1-2, John 14:1,7,9) and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:2, John 14:26). God's love is eternal (Psalm 118) because God is the very essence of love (1 John 4:8).
Jesus
Jesus truly is the son of God (Matthew 16:15-16, Luke 3:22) and from God (John 1:14 with John 8:47). Jesus calls broken people into wholeness (Luke 7:47, Luke 19:10). We believe in His deity, His humanity and virgin birth (Matthew 1:23); His sinless life (1 Peter 1:19), His miracles, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to God the Father (John 3:13, John 20:17), and His eventual physical return (I Thessalonians 4:16&18). We choose to follow Jesus as Lord (see here) by giving him full authority over our lives (Matthew 28:18). We allow him alone to direct the course of our lives, our thoughts and thus our actions (John 5:15, 2 Corinthians 10:5, John 17:26). Jesus is the embodiment of truth and eternal life (John 6:68-69, John 14:6, Acts 4:12). And to those who believe in him, he offers eternal life (John 3:15, Romans 6:23).
Now Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. John 20:30-31
